Teaching

I teach Flute, Clarinet and Saxophone and have school age students and adults who come to my studio each week.

All styles of music are taught, including improvisation and I cover foundation technique well, so that students have a strong core of skills on which to build.

Students play with a great sound, a good full tone and one that serves them well on their musical journeys.

Students can be prepared for AMEB or Trinity College exams. I play the piano in class, so all student work is truly placed in musical contexts where they have to count, and become independent thinking young musicians.

Lessons are enjoyable with lots of fun and laughter. I connect using stories…..sometimes entertaining sometimes sad…….. but always a great resource showing us how to play the music better.

Students regularly attend SHEP Courses, run by Conservatorium at Griffith University. Many attend the regional courses. Some students have gone on to represent the state, and Australia at the Pacific Honours Program.

Basically……. I love teaching!!!
